Year of Release 2005. This year represents the turning of the tide.
Give us the humility to accept the things we cannot change, and give us the courage to change to change the things we can
and give us the wisdom to know the difference.
BIRDWATCHING RARITIES

Whist working on the pilot scheme for this project (and having an annual holiday from the Scottish winter at the same time!) we observed over 200 bird species in 2 weeks. This is not unusual in Gambia and we managed to see some unusual birds such as this curious spotted crake. Modou, our guide, saw a tiger heron whilst taking us on a mangrove safari. If you would like to know more about Modou’s birdwatching safaris go to the Senegambia Hotel where he works with the famous Mass Cham or see him at the international bird fair in the UK.

The brown necked parrot is a red data book species which we filmed near Faraba at Tumani Tenda a very relaxing basic holiday centre. The community in Tumani Tenda is part of the same tribe and is also involved in tree planting and protecting their environment.
