Year of Release 2005. This year represents the turning of the tide.
Give us the humility to accept the things we cannot change, and give us the courage to change to change the things we can
and give us the wisdom to know the difference.

We will no longer take donations for the programme through this website and suggest you contact the programme directly through

Modou colley at mcolley99@yahoo.com or support other projects in Africa such as treeaid.

We will keep you posted of developments and we are also developing relations with other bodies which can help support the initiative.

It has been a valuable endeavour establishing relations with a local community in the Gambia and supporting their efforts to maintain their natural forests and we are proud of the excellent work which has gone on in Gambia. However I am not in a position to manage this work from my base in the UK and with my other work and personal commitments. I will continue to support the community in the Gambia and the nursery school and would like to return in the future. What I can say is that we each need to inspire one another in these difficult times and find ways to suppport practical endeavours which make a difference.

Trees 4 africa demonstrates what can be done when a few people decide to change things for the better and we were able to plant and protect 5000 trees at a cost of less than £1500. I think this helps to demonstrate that tree planting need not be expensive and can be linked to other sustainable development work to help empower local communities in Africa.

I am sure modou will continue to protect his local environment and help plant more trees and be a successful birdwatcher. I hope you will experience what a beautiful part of the world africa and the Gambia is what a wonderful natural history it has and help to support it for future generations.
